When you think of waders what are the most common uses coming to mind? Duck hunting and fishing perhaps? What about deer hunting? Have you ever waded to deer hunt?

When the hunters get out in swarms after Mr. Big Buck it puts pressure on the deer herd and the big smart one’s tend to bed down in the thickets most people won’t dare hunt. In some cases the big bucks even go nocturnal. In Wisconsin there is plenty of marsh and swamp land open to the public. Public land hunting is tough going. It can be overcrowded and scarce in most instances.

When attempting to hunt trophy deer in high pressure area’s some put on the wader to get to the spots most hunters never consider. Wading to your hunting spot can prove to be highly effective tactic, though you may have to work at it much harder when planning your entry and exit points. In addition, finding a thicket of high ground within a marsh and/or a tree to hang your stand will be tricky, yet worth it.
